About BeforeAfterLab
A small tool with one job: put two photos of the same subject next to each other, so the change between them is obvious — a renovation, a haircut, a fitness journey, a retouched portrait.
How it works
You open two photos. The tool draws them into a single frame with the browser's Canvas API, adding the layout, labels and divider you pick. Press download and the file is written straight to your device. No account, no waiting queue, no upload — the whole operation stays inside the tab.
Five layouts
- Side by Side — two halves, the easiest shape for posts and reports.
- Interactive Slider — one photo hides behind the other; the handle decides how much of each shows.
- Overlay — the before photo sits on top at low opacity, so misalignment is obvious.
- Split View — a diagonal seam divides the old from the new inside one frame.
- Vertical Stack — one photo above the other, made for phones and stories.
On top of those there is a template library: editorial layouts, paper and tape, minimal, bold, retro, and a set of torn-paper designs.
Free and upgraded
Every layout, every template, the slider preview and the GIF and video export are free to use. The first clean PNG export each day carries no corner mark; further PNG exports that day carry a small corner mark, and there is a daily limit. Pro removes the mark and lifts the limit; nothing else about the tool changes. The free version needs no account. Pro is a subscription you manage from your account.
What it does not do
It does not edit the photos themselves: no retouching, no colour grading, no face changes. It only arranges two existing images and exports the result as PNG, GIF or video.
